    1. I suppose that they must be some sort of organic hats put there by the people of the island. When did they leave forever?

    2. Sorry if I'm being a dill and missing an obvious joke Tom, but as far as I know, the inhabitants never left. The population did fall to about a hundred or so in the late 1800s though, I think.

      I saw two docos on the Island last year. One was about the growing movement for independence from Chile. Interesting.
