Pi
A found object in a strange place. Maybe it is a survey peg? It's been underwater for two years and with the breaking of the bar, revealed for its curiousness.
Intriguing photo. I'm reading Verne's '20,000 Leagues Under the Sea' in which Captain Nemo of The Nautillus informed me last night that if all salt in our planet's oceans was spread over the land it would cover all the land on the Earth to a depth of 10 meters.
The version I'm reading goes by the strange title "20,000 Miles Under the Sea" (it's in a readable German). Anyway, it's peppered here and there with many 'intriguing' facts. A boys own adventure story, for young and old, it is.

ReplyDeleteI don't think I've ever read that book Gwil. An intriguing fact.

DeleteCurious.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it. I will have to get on the maps and have a look. It could be similar to a forest grid reference tree.
DeleteYou can calculate the circumference of the Earth using Pi.
ReplyDeleteTake a tape measure to the centre of things.
