A query, as the gathering winter makes the cool, sharp crack of my axe into a lump of swamp mahogany sound like a gunshot through the valley. The kangaroos quit grazing and stand on their hind two legs, lean back on their tails, listening.

  1. You have the label to this post spot on. I love the little poetic moments you pass on.

    1. Thanks Ciaran. I nearly titled it something else until I remembered what I was thinking at the time ...

    3. Interesting. Originally my title was 'Have you forgotten me?' which I changed around a bit.

  2. You burn mahogany and kangaroos watch you chop it? How exotic.

    1. And I thought your life was exotic Tom. The kangaroos come into the paddock next door in the evenings. They don't come over to our place, probably because we have dogs.

  4. Haven't forgotten you either Sarah. Just thought I'd let you know that your assistance has born fruit. My blog is up and running now. I'm still playing around with bits and pieces and learning as I go along. Might check in with you again in future if there are things I can't figure out but so far so good.
Now if I can just develop a writing style as poetic as yours...

    1. Hi Crispin, your new blog is looking good already. Can I put it on my sidebar, where I stash all my reading links?
