Half moon says hello to Venus

YES I know it's three o'clock in the morning here but it is the the winter solstice. Happy Winter Solstice folks! From now on in we'll be driving the long roads into work that are getting lighter every day. Tonight our family celebrated as we do every year, by setting fire to stuff. Here is a pic of Venus being a total queen and photo bombing our bonfire.

    Yes, it's a bit dark when I leave for work atm and it will be nice to watch the sun returning.

      That drive to and from work in the dark quite depresses me. Bring on the light.

    You must have very dark skies to see Venus through that fire. Happy Summer Solstice from us.

      Thanks Tom. Yes the fire was about the only light pollution that night. The rain even stopped for us. A beautiful night.
