There is a pavement stone here in town which is a fossilised section of beach at low tide, complete with sandy ripples. It must have come from a beach like yours, 150 million years ago, when Britain hovered over the equator.
They are pretty amazing. I've seen those stones around here too.
The first ones look like chocolate icing.
